One of my favorite areas in Baton Rouge AKA "The Dales" consists of Old Louisiana Cottage style homes. Here you will have a community feel with old town charm. Also most of these homes were built in the 1950's and have been fully remodeled.
 
This neighborhood is one of the most walkable in the area with quick access to restaurants, grocery stores, and nightlife. Here you will see families out riding bikes, runners, and walkers with quick access to the LSU Lakes. Come home to University Gardens. Also on the parade route.
